A recent restoration project of an early 20th-century print, in the style of French artist Paul César Helleu. The print was signed by a certain G. Bardou. Unfortunately, to this day, I haven’t been able to find more information about the artist.
On the picture below, on the before side, you can see the print is heavily marked by oxidation, as well as dirt and tears. After cleaning and treatment, the gaps and tears were mended and filled. I will go deeper on the subject in a future blog post.
As for the before and after image, I did a little photo montage in photoshop :). At the moment, I am still looking for a better daylight lamp and a light diffuser for better lighting while taking pictures. More about that later.
